Use Your FSA or HSA to Purchase Eyewear!
If you don’t have a separate vision insurance plan, your FSA or HSA will likely cover routine eye exams, prescription glasses, and contact lenses. If you’ve been thinking about an alternative to glasses, or if your prescription has changed, now may be the perfect time to find out more.
Our office accepts FSA or HSA debit cards, just like a normal credit card. If you do not have an FSA or HSA debit card, you will have to make your purchase using another credit card and seek reimbursement directly from your FSA or HSA provider. Most FSA or HSA providers will require you to submit a reimbursement form along with an itemized receipt that we can provide at the time of your visit.
Every FSA plan is different, so it’s important to take a good look at yours before you start your FSA “shopping.” If you don’t have a separate vision insurance plan, your FSA or HSA will likely cover routine eye exams, prescription glasses and sunglasses, and contact lenses. Or, if you already have prescription sunglasses, your FSA might be just the thing that makes it possible to treat yourself to a second style you have your eyes on.
